Conservative Member Of Parliament Gives Apologies

Recently, I was on twitter where there was seemed like two people where auging that was Lord Sugar and the Conservative MP Louise Mensch. It was during the exchange of arugements that Piers Morgan name was mentioned.

The Conservative MP Louise Mensch.who has said sorry for wrongly accusing Piers Morgan of admitting to phone hacking, is no stranger to spats with tabloids. Conservative MP Louise Mensch Louise Mensch has apologised to Piers Morgan She said she misquoted the former Daily Mirror editor during her questioning of Rupert Murdoch and his son James when they appeared before the Commons Culture Committee. In a letter to the committee chairman John Whittingdale, she said she had “wrongly” stated Mr Morgan had been open about personally hacking phones in a book he wrote.

“Therefore, I must apologise to Mr Morgan and the committee for this error about his book,” she said. Her mea culpa was fulsome, and Mr Morgan took it so. Saying on Twitter “Apology graciously accepted. Thank you”.

But it seems the story ends anywhere but there. Piers Morgan Piers Morgan has accepted the politician’s apology In suggesting that newspaper malpractices extended well beyond the now-defunct News Of The World, she has clearly raised tabloid hack hackles. And, she says, journalists have now accused her of taking drugs and dancing with the violinist Nigel Kennedy, while drunk, at a nightclub.

Her answer, basically …so what? “Although I do not remember the specific incident, this sounds highly probable … since I was in my twenties, I’m sure it was not the only incident of the kind.” she said. “We all do idiotic things when young”. In taking that tack, she was only following the lead of the Prime Minister, who has been open about the fact that he got into trouble at Eton for smoking cannabis.
